An international technique of art, architecture and design is Art Nouveau. This form or art was at its peak at the starting of the 20th century. This art form has features of curvilinear designs, flowing and style which were grand. Flowers and plant inspired motifs were the subject of this form of painting. Art Nouveau was a strenuous effort to generate a global method based on ornamentation. It was formulated by a bright and lively generation of artists and architects, who wanted to design an art form which would be appropriate for the contemporary age.

Artists, designers and decorators all fell under its magic charm during the 1880s. These artists produced highly conventionalized pieces of work. Examples of glorious buildings in the fashion can be seen all over Europe, predominantly in Barcelona, Paris, Budapest, Prague, and Berlin.

Antoni Gaudi

Antoni Gaudi is one of the famous artists who followed the Art Nouveau model for his paintings. He was a simple man with some common sense and good ideas. He fuses structure with decoration. Nature was his guide in almost all his paintings. He was interested in presenting nature and its beauty in a three dimensional forms. He was not interested in two dimensions. His primary interest was nature's inner forces and he expressed them on the surface. His style was on the top and he was never satisfied in compromising a straight line in place where a curve would add beauty to his picture. His greatest beauty was the city Minster which he left incomplete when he died.

Famous Nouveau painters

Charles Rennie Mackintosh was another leading exponent and also a designer from Glasgow. He used the Art Nouveau style and mingled it with his distinctive ideas. He created beautiful furniture, buildings, jewelry using this style of art. His work is exhibited in museums and his jewelry designs are continuously copied and sold.

Rene Lalique

The French architect Rene Lalique was a jewelry creator following the Art Noveau style. He became very famous for his art work in glass making.

Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt was another artist who followed the Art Noveau style. His style of painting is popular even now. His specialization of his paintings was figures in the form of a female. He used the same figures for his murals, drawings and paintings. A number of his paintings have been traded for enormously high prices and his creation is mass produced in the form of publishes, notices and furnishings.
